Life is like the journey of many people across a country, starting from the centre of the map with rewards waiting just after the border line. Some soon enters the forest, devoid of people to help, keep their company or make them happy. Faced with rivers of barriers, hills and valleys, thorns and thistle, scary sounds and deadly animals of the forest; yet they must keep moving with the hope of getting to the better land which may or may not be, before the border line.
Some passes through the desert where they are welcomed by the burning rays of sun with no place to hide. Faced with severe thirst and hunger, they believe they cannot survive it. Yet a better habitation awaits them just at the end of the desert before their border line.
Some enters straight into plantation fields with varieties of fruit trees and crops. Although they have no habitation, there are trees to cover them from the scotching sun; several fruits to satisfy their hunger and gently flowing cold streams to quench their thirst. So happy they were, hoping to find a city at the end of the plantation. The later may be better as they hoped or even worse.
Others move straight into modern cities. There are beautiful mansions and gardens to pass the night, cars to transport them, cooked food and exotic drinks to feed them, and electric bulbs to light them at night. There are friends to play with, radio and televisions to make them happy, and people to show them the way. They are so contented and feel on top of the world, believing there are no sufferings on their way. But the reception beyond the city is not clear; it may be the worst desert, a thick forest or a wilderness.
The tragedy is that; no matter how big or small a map is, some border lines are closer to the centre while others are far apart. Fingers are not equal, it was extensively said. While some enjoys the best of life, other live to wish they do. Yet these situations may not be permanent! It sometimes switches like a snake and ladder game where the uncontrollable snakes pulls down and the miraculous ladder pushes up.
But the certainty remains! Irrespective of what individuals face during the journey of life, some will cross the border line of the LIFE MAP too soon while others follow in progression. A few will stay so long and cross this border very late. This border line of life is DEATH! You never can tell where your border line lies. Maximize therefore, your present; whether pleasant or not for a better life after death.
Though your placement within the border of life is not by choice, your choice within the map determines your placement beyond the border line. The best choice you can make while it is still day, when your life remains in you is to remember your creator!
“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain” Ecclesiastics 12:1-2
Even Jesus Christ the Lord said:
“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work” John 9:4
Yet, no one knows where owns border line of death lies;
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” Hebrew 9:27
The best assurance after the border line of death is crossed is in Jesus. he is calling you with love!
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Mat 11:28-30”
He was crucified to give you a better eternity!
“So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” Heb 9:28
It was too late for some people to make this wise decision;
“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works” Revelation 20:12
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” Revelation 20:15
So, what will be your decision today? Is it to lose everlasting life in the scotching fire of hell or enjoy it in the paradise with the Lord Jesus Christ and His angels? Please accept Jesus today, because tomorrow may be too late!
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” Act 3:19
“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” John 6:37
Acknowledge yourself as a sinner; ask Jesus for forgiveness; forsake your sins completely; and start a new life with Jesus. Then, you’ll have a secured glorious home across the border line of life.

HYMN: The Last Mile of the Way
If I walk in the pathway of duty,
If I work till the close of the day,
I shall see the great King in His beauty,
When I’ve gone the last mile of the way.

When I’ve gone the last mile of the way,
I will rest at the close of the day;
And I know there are joys that await me,
When I’ve gone the last mile of the way.

If for Christ I proclaim the glad story,
If I seek for His sheep gone astray,
I am sure He will show me His glory,
When I’ve gone the last mile of the way.

Here the dearest of ties we must sever,
Tears of sorrow are seen every day;
But no sickness, no sighing forever,
When I’ve gone the last mile of the way.

And if here I have earnestly striven,
And have tried all His will to obey,
’Twill enhance all the rapture of heaven,
When I’ve gone the last mile of the way.

Song by Johnson Oatman, Jr., 1908
